I’d like to take this opportunity to provide some tips which will help you achieve success through article marketing.

1. Do NOT over-optimize your articles. Repeating the same term over and over creates a bad image about you/your site and may cause your article to be rejected by editors.
2. Do NOT include links in the article body.
3. Provide some sort of insight or information valuable to the reader. You wouldn’t be very happy with an article which wastes your time.
4. If you want to “OPTIMIZE” a part of the article then “OPTIMIZE THE TITLE“. If you stop and analyze Digg, Technorati or other social bookmarking sites you will see a common pattern, the articles which get the most visits/votes are the ones which have interesting/catchy titles. Picture yourself going to a bookstore to buy a good book, a normal practice would be to open it and read the index to find “TITLES or TOPICS” which catch your attention. For example, an article titled “Great cellphone features” may not pull much traffic compared to an article titled “Sexy Cellphone Features” or “Cellphones help you prevent diseases” (Assuming a hypothetical scenario, of course!)
5. Create an author resource box which provides links related to the article topic. If you provide an article which talks about computers and you place a link to an accounting related site you are defeating the purpose of article marketing!.  Avoid using affiliate links in the article resource box as well!.
6. Submit articles as often as you can. That way you will create many streams of traffic to your site and you will have a diversity of anchor texts linked to your site. Keep in mind that some articles will be more popular than others depending on the title and content optimization.
